OPTICAL LANTERNS, ETC. The ''"Adaptable'' Lantern No. l150 As its name indicates, this instrument is adaptable for haUs of various lengths, inasmuch as it can be fitted with lenses from 6in. to 16in. focus, and also, being fitted with a Bellows Front, it is easily adjusted to various lengths of throw from 6 or 8 feet, as would be the case in small classrooms, up to as much as 50 or 60 feet in a large church or hall. The instrument is of somewhat novel design, as portability, hghtness, adaptability and efficiency have been considered first, with the result that certain conventions have been abandoned. As will be seen, a Bellows Front is provided, fine focusing being achieved by means of a scroll mount on the Objective, and the 500-watt Lamp is in its own housing and permanently fixed in the body, so that manipulation is an exceedingly simple matter.
