We use Optical Character Recognition (OCR) during our scanning and processing workflow to make the content of each page searchable. You can view the automatically generated text below as well as copy and paste individual pieces of text to quote in your own work.

Text recognition is never 100% accurate. Many parts of the scanned page may not be reflected in the OCR text output, including: images, page layout, certain fonts or handwriting.

For persons living in very out of the way parts of Scotland, Ireland, or the Channel Islands, we allow four days instead of three as described above. Persons who are unknown to us, or who have not an account with us, must send the cost of the Lanterns and slides at the time that they hire them, or give us two London references to well known houses. Where a sel of slides exceeds four dozen in number we only charge 4s. for the set, whatever number it may- comprise. Persons should always order two or three times the number of slides that they really require, in case some of the sets may be out of stock, to save time in correspondence. We do not guarantee that all the slides in this catalogue may be had on hire, they can only be had as far as we happen to have them in stock at the time, but if a week’s notice is given we are generally able to supply almost anything. We are always prepared to colour slides for any customer; it is very likely that a great many persons have bought slides plain and would like to have them coloured but do not know where to get them done ; our price for colouring slides is 6d. each. It will be noticed that in ordering slides from this catalogue, that there are in some cases as many as five or six sets of all the same kinds of slides : customers should therefore be particular in mentioning which set of slides and what page it is on, that they- wish to have. Allthese sets ofslides where they are repeated refer to slides by different manufacturers, or different sets of the same kind of slides, and in no case are the pictures actually the same. There are of course an immense number of slides manufactured by other people which we do not mention in this Catalogue, but we can always supply them to customers if they will say what slides they require, and also at the same price as mentioned in these different manufacturers’ Catalogues. Some makers charge a much higher price than others, but we have been careful not to include in our list slides which cannot be done at one price all round, as we consider i/- each for plain slides and 1/6 for coloured slides is quite sufficient. Many makers charge 1/3 and 1/6 each for plain slides which are not in any way different or better than those mentioned in our list at i/-, and since they do not care to reduce their price we have not listed them in our Catalogue. Customers should please say if they desire goods to be sent marked “Glass or Fragile.” When this is done the Railway Companies make an extra charge, but are then answerable if goods are damaged. Unless ordered to be so marked we send by ordinary rate, always packing with the greatest possible care. All goods excepting very heavy packages are sent by passenger train, unless otherwise ordered.
