"CLOSED SHOP WINS" (?) WHITE RATS LOSE IN OKLAHOMA CITY The White Rata have Bent the following circular: CLOSED SHOP WINS BOARD DECIDES I". FAVOR OF RATS ACTORS' UNION OF AMERICA, AC, &C. "Artrttration Board findings in our favor. Recom- t of motion picture oreia* and stage employees and a thorough trial Shop for actors, saying that it understands that such a contract with the White Union, the trend of the decision along these that they did not desire to strictly put this con- it the managers as a duty, but believe that a Is all we ask, should be given the plan. Ab- equllabte contract along the lines of the contract In universal use The facta are that the White Rats have lost their strike in Oklahoma City and that the Arbitration Board, instead of deciding anything, made two recommendations, and right here let us state that the reason why the Arbi- tration Board did not deeide anything was because they had not the power or authority to deeide, but only the : to recommend. Aa long as the White Rats were issuing statements broadcast why did they not publish the exact truth and is? The following is the recommendation of the Board at Oklahoma City as pertaining to the White Rat Actors' Union: "As to the proposition of the the* nothing but members of the White Rats Union, the Board does not feel qualified at this time to pass judgment on this Important Issue, by reason of the fact that Oklahoma City Is one of a chain of cities on circuits which are booked by fo.eign concerns or booking agents, located outside of the State, and we, therefore, doubt the feasibility of impos- ing upon the managers in Oklahoma City this duty." There v s also another recommendation, that If the t agreeable they might test, or try "closed shop" In vaudeville. out, the Mr. Graves Lee per, the Chairman of the Commission, made the suggestion from the bench that the agitator had too much brains for any one man, and suggested on ac- count of this over-abundance of brains that the agitator should incorporate same. We do not know whether the agitator is accepting the suggestion which concerned his over-abundance of brains, but we do know that the Man- ners absolutely rejected the recommendation for testing out the "closed shop" and the agitator left Oklahoma City with another rank failure added to his already long list of failures. The reason why the agitator picked Oklahoma City for his first strike was because the Oklahoma Labor Laws are about the most stringent and far-reaching of any State in the Union. After picking hia own fighting ground, chooB- ing his own weapons and taking plenty of time to map out his plan of a life, and that w into print with the circular headed "CLOSED SHOP WINS." He was making another bid for the Artist's money and did not have the nerve to sign the circular himself, but sticks the name of "Geoffrey O. Whalen" to the bottom of it. The agitator's bluffs have been called so often that he has re- cently been compelled to use the names of both the high and low officers of the organization on his publicity mat- ter. Not only has he run out of money, but he has run out of nerve. STRIKE OR NO STRIKE IN OKLAHOMA CITY, THE MANAGERS WILL HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE WHITE RATS. VAUDEVILLE MANAGERS' PROTECTIVE ASSOCIATION.
