BROADCASTERS’ National Broadcasting Company, Inc, GENERAL Library 7H Fift'n Avenue, New York, N. Y. NEWS BULLETIN Issued by THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF BROADCASTERS NATIONAL PRESS BUILDING ♦ * * WASHINGTON, D. C. PHILIP G. LOUCKS, Managing Director. 2, 1932 II Di IIIU ^ ?AL 1 i fg 0 w : rH,i ADJOURNIvIENT EXPECTED Leaders in both the House and Senate are predicting that Congress will be ready to adjourn next week. The prevailing opinion seems to be that ad¬ journment will come Wednesday. However, no agreement has been reached and anything might happen. The tentative schedule sent out to House members last week included a Calendar Wednesday but due to the fact that Chairman Sirovich of the House Committee on Patents and Copyrights is still ill, a postponement was unani¬ mously agreed upon. Should Congress remain in session throughout next week it may be necessary for Chairman Sirovich to designate some other mem¬ ber of the committee to handle the bill on the floor in the event the chair¬ man is unable to be present. The Davis Bill, to which the Senate added a license fee amendment, is still in the hands of the Senate Interstate Commerce Committee and should adjournment come next week there is no danger of action on this measure. The President has approved the economy bill which authorizes him to transfer the Radio Division of the Department of Commerce to the Radio Com¬ mission., Under the measure, this must be done by Executive Order. No Such order, of course, has as yet been issued.
