ASLS CLARIFICATION OF ORDER
The Commission this week filed a petition with the District of Columbia Court of -ti-ppeals asking that Court to modify or aiuend its mandate as issued in January 1931 when the Court instructed the Commission to make a further allocaticn of the 40 short wave chanuRls released by the insolvency of Universal Wireless Communications Company,. The instructions of the Court specified that these frequencies should either be granted to RCA Communications s Inc,, or the Mackay Radio and Telegraph Co, The Com¬ mission has told the Court due to economic conditions and general lowering of business volume, further hearings should be held in order to properly reallocate these fre¬ quencies in line with the statutory standard of public interest convenience and necessity.
