Alexander Alt returned from Acton this week, where he acted in and directed a tworeel situation comedy for Reelcraft. Bill Dyer, assistant to Dell Henderson in the production of Ben Wilson features, returned Saturday from Victorville, where practically all the scenes of "Hoxie No. 5" were taken. Jack Laver, after two years' continuous assisting at Selig Zoo, has gone to San Francisco for a vacation. E. J. Zerr left on February 15th with Dr. Salisbury for a tour of the world to make Educational Travelogues. Buck Connors is writing and directing stories at Globe for an Arizona picture company. T. Roy Barnes is engaged to support Wanda Hawley in "It Can Be Done." Harry Myers has been signed to play opposite Bebe Daniels in "The March Hare." John Arnold will photograph Viola Dana's new feature production, "Lite's Darn Funny." Anne Toriani has been selected by George H. Kern to play a part in "The Unfoldment." Tom Gallery is to play the title role In Vitagraph's "The Son of Wallingford." Mrs. Tod Browning (Alice Wilson) will play a principal role with Dave Butler in his next First National picture. Mabel Van Buren has been signed for a prominent role in the new Mary Miles Minter production for Realart. H. Kinley Martin is photographing Bebe Daniels in "The March Hare." Monte Blue will have the male lead in the new Mary Miles Minter picture which has gone into production. Arthur Hoyt has been selected by Madame Nazimova for an important role in her production of "Camille" for Metro. Randolph Chester has selected George Webb to play Blackie Daw in "The Son of Wallingford." Maurice Tourneur has engaged Charles Meredith to play opposite Doris May in his current production, "Foolish Matrons." Jack Douglass has been added to the producing organization of the Producers Pictures Corporation. Ed Flanagan and Polly Moran have been signed for leading comedy roles in "The March Hare," the latest Bebe Daniels starring vehicle for Realart. Jack Richardson, formerly with Mack Sennett, has signed with Harry Caulfield of the Beverly Syndicate Corporation to play in that company's first two-reel comedy, now being filmed at Universal under the direction of Jimmie Clemens. MARYON AYE AT THE CALIFORNIA Maryon Aye, who recently played opposite Larry Semon in "The Hick," is portraying Alia Nazimova in Peggy Hamilton's Fashion Revue at the California Theater. Miss Aye formerly played the Keith and Orpheum circuits. Tom Santschi is getting ready to resume the making of his two-reel Westerns for the Cyrus J. Williams Co. Jack Roseleigh is playing the principal role in T. Hayes Hunter's production of "The Light in the Clearing." Albert S. Loyd has deserted vaudeville for the screen. Loyd has been engaged to play in Oliver Morosco's "The Half Breed." Eddie Hearne, leading man for Irvin V. %Villat feature productions, is preparing to start work in "The Face of the World." Theodore Lorch has just signed to play an important part in Fatty Arbuckle's next production. Mack Sennett has announced that the director who will make "Molly O' " under his personal supervision will be F. Richard Jones. Genevieve Berte, former little Christie bathing girl, is playing the feminine lead in "The Galloping Devil" and "The Struggle," starring Franklyn Farnum. After having been loaned to appear opposite Owen Moore in a feature picture made in New York, Teddy Sampson has become leading woman in the single reel Gayett Comedies released through Educa John Davidson, recently leading man of the Majestic Theatre Stock Company, is playing an important part opposite Carmel Myers in her current Universal feature, "Thou Art With Me." Alec B. Francis has been chosen to play the comedy role in "Mrs. Dane's Defense," which Lawrence Grant will produce April 11th at a Los Angeles theater. Florence Stone beads the all-star cast.
