Il était déjà quelque peu averti de toutes ces splendeurs par les projections cinématographiques qui, à Fez, l'avaient préparé à la vision des pays du Nord. Aussi a-t-il tenu, avant son départ de la Métropole, à se faire initier à la Magie cinématographique.
