U-Int. utilized three models for street ballyhoo on "Tap Roots" in Philadelpha, tieing in with the Democratic convention. One of the models here pins Boris Karloff, Richard Long, and Julie London autographed copies of the book "Top Roots" in Gimbels Department Store's book section. The featured players of the production also made numerous stage appearances. Earl Wilson down with a badge reading "I'm A Delegate To The World Premiere Of 'Tap Roots' in Technicolor at the Goldman". He seems to like it. Irving Lesser and Seymour Poe, representatives of Walter Wanger, producer of "Tap Roots", greet bogey man Karloff and Long in the lobby of the Goldman. A special midnight screening kicked off the picture. I August 18, 1948
