C. — Halifax Amusements has installed new sound equipment in the Rialto at Weldon, and Roy Rowe, of Burgaw, has installed similar equipment in his Bladen at Elizabethtown. Houston — The North Main, a new Hoblitzelle house operated by the Interstate Circuit, Inc., has been equipped with new sound apparatus. Houston — W. J. Chesher has arranged for the immediate installation of new sound equipment in his Gordon at Sudan. White Plains, N. Y.— The Pix, a newly completed house said to be the first of a chain to be built up by John S. Clarke, Jr., has replaced its sound apparatus. Nashville — Tony Sudekum, who heads the Crescent Amusement Co., has arranged to install new sound in the Rex. Buffalo — The Regent, operated by M. K. Konerakowski, has been equipped with new sound apparatus. Roxbury, N. Y. — The old sound equipment in the Roxbury, which is operated by M. H. Fanning, has been replaced. Bradford, Pa. — The new Bradford is scheduled to open on Christmas Day with a complete all-round sound installation, according to George Otte. Dover, N. H. — The State will soon be operating with a new sound system. St. Louis — The Montgomery has contracted for the latest sound equipment. Haverstraw, N. Y. — Contract has been closed by the Capitol for a new sound system. Silver City, Mo. — New sound equipment is to be added to the Silco. Sanatorium, Miss. — The Sanatorium will add a new attachment to its sound system shortly. South Boston, Va. — A sound attachment is being installed in the Princess. from Page 4) Weldon, N. C— The Opera House will soon be operating with a new sound system. Thomasville, Ga. — A new sound attachment is to be added to the Rose. Wahpeton, N. D. — New sound is soon to be installed in the Valley. Middlesboro, Ky. — A new sound attachment has been ordered for the Manring. Chicago — The Praga will soon be operating with a new Western Electric Wide Range sound system. Pueblo, Col. — A complete sound system goes into the Palm soon. Santa Fe, N. M. — The Lensic has contracted for a new sound attachment. Compton, Calif. — The Compton has contracted for a complete new sound system. New York — Joan of Arc Pictures, Inc., headed by Sherman Krellburg, who also operates the Astor, has taken over the Bijou, legitimate stage theater, and converted it into a picture house with the installation of an RCA High Fidelity sound system. Visalia, Calif. — A new attachment has been added to the New Theater's sound equipment. Scotts Bluff, Neb.— The Egyptian is adding a new attachment to its sound system. Littleton, N. C. — A new sound system is soon to be installed in the Haliwar. Boulder, Colo. — The New Curran opens shortly with complete new Western Electric Wide Range sound equipment. New Castle, Ind. — Ray Brenner, who operates the Castle here, has contracted for a sound system. Casper, Wyo. — The America is adding a new attachment to its sound system. Columbia City, Ind. — The Columbia has installed a new seamless Da-Lite screen. Terre Haute, Ind.— The New Victory has new re-built booth equipment. Newark — The Arcturus Radio Tube Co., announces its "Coronet" Metal Tube line, utilizing a new and exclusive principle in receiving tube structure. It is claimed that the "Coronet" seal in these tubes enables the application of the manufacturing technique perfected by the industry over the past 28 years. The manufacturers claim that the inherent weaknesses of the original metal tube are overcome, that they have more dependable vacuum than the original metal tube; lower operating temperatures, and rugged structure resulting in quiet operation. S.O.S. Streamease chairs. Deal was negotiated by New York representative for Kannapolis Theaters, Inc. Kannapolis, N. C. — Complete S. 0. S. Cinemaphone Wide Fidelity sound and projection equipment was installed last week in the New Theater. New York — Yorkville Theater just completed installation of complete S.O.S. projection and Wide Fidelity Sound Equipment. Job was personally supervised by Abe Phillips, manager. The entire house was also renovated. Kannapolis, N. C. — Kannapolis Theater is being completely reseat Detroit — Eight theaters in Lansing are equipping with A. C. generators and rectifiers on account of change of electric service. The theaters were the only D. C. customers left the municipal lighting plant in Lansing, and the city is standing fifty per cent of the cost of the changeover. Work has been completed in all houses except the Orpheum and Garden, operated by Jack H. Ross. Most of the new generators were sold by Theater Equipment Company. Detroit — Herman Hunt, manager of Detroit branch of National Theater Equipment Co. sold Transverter Generator to H. C. Cochran's Plaza Theater at Lansing this week. E. V. Smith, former representative for Cleveland Sotand Engineering 1C0. and Western Electric, has joined the national staff, and will handle a portion of both city and state territories. Fred Boyd will continue to handle the remainder of the city territory.
