Funeral services of C. J. Rebstock, 65, father of Jeff Rebstock, Golden Meadows, La., exhibitor, were held in that town last week. County officers at Spokane, where movie theater owners have registered strong protest against the dart games in which the public throws darts at numbered squares for prizes, are closing in on these games. Granada Theater of West Seattle did yeoman service for the West Side's Christmas fund, printing special tickets for a week which were sold at regular rates with half the proceeds going to the fund for the kiddies' celebration. T T T Allan Jones has been selected by Carl Laemmle, Jr., to play the role of Ravenal in "Show Boat." v ▼ T Jean Rouverol, ingenue, has been placed under contract by Republic. T T T With Johnny Downs, borrowed from Paramount for the romantic lead opposite Rochelle Hudson, production is under way at 20th Century-Fox studios on "Everybody's Old Man," Irvin S. Cobb's first starring picture. Downs was one of the original "Our Gang" youngsters. Warren Hymer and Donald Meek also have been assigned roles in the Cobb film. St. Louis Squibs St. Louis — Arrangements have been completed by Fanchon & Marco to resume stage shows at the Ambassador on Friday. Amytis Amusement Corp. has been formed by R. M. Nelson, G. Bierand, V. E. Bier to operate a general theater and show business and other enterprises. Burton Holmes will give a film lecture on "What I Saw in Ethiopia" in the Municipal Auditorium on Friday night.
