ALTEC SERVICE gives an exhibitor greater safety — greater value — greater satisfaction 1. National Organization The Altec organization, being nation-wide, can organize the distribution of manpower so that your theatre is protected every day. More than 200 Altec inspectors are scheduled to give complete coverage to every Altec Service theatre. 2. No Equipment to Sell g Altec Service is exclusively a service organization. We are in business for one purpose only — to provide sound service so complete and technically advanced that your sound system will operate at its peak performance all of the time. Altec is not a manufacturer of complete sound systems and therefore is unbiased and impartial in any recommendation it makes for the improvement of sound in your theatre. This is of vital importance to you in the face of necessary present-day economies. 3. Good Service, Plus 7 When you contract for Altec Service you get the regular services of an Altec-trained specialist. But you get more. You get the day-in-day-out services of an entire corps of research and development engineers, who work at Altec headquarters in New York and Hollywood. Science never stands still. At all times, new inventions, new techniques, new modifications of existing techniques, are being developed, to improve both recording and reproduction of sound motion pictures. All of these new developments are under constant study by the Altec research engineers. %. Technical Information and Advice Available Your Altec inspector gets weekly bulletins from headquarters announcing each new development that affects your theatre. Where you can take advantage of the improved box oflSce value of improved sound your Altec inspector will advise you. 8 The Altec research and development engineers work closely with the engineers of the Academy of Arts and Sciences, and with the Society of Motion Picture Engineers (SMPE). These organizations are working constantly toward the improvement of standards of sound reproduction as they affect theatres, new testing techniques, new measurement methods for the scientific analysis of theatre problems and their solution. The Altec headquarters engineering staff immediately relays to your Altec Service inspector these findings, the new methods, the new testing techniques. 5. Close Cooperation With Equipment Manufacturers Protects the Commercial Application of New Techniques in Equipment Design. THE SERVICE ORGANIZATION OF THE The Altec research and development engineers work closely with the development engineers of the manufacturers of sound systems, to bring to the manufacturer the benefit of nation-wide service experience with theatre sound problems. They, in turn, advise Altec of any new improvements. Altec-Designed Test Equipment for Theatre Use The Altec Service research and development engineers have developed and are constantly improving test films, and test equipment, etc., which are an essential part of the kit which the Altec inspector carries with him when he comes to your theatre. These essential test meters, films, measurement apparatus, and tools — so vital in the servicing of your theatre — are scientific equipment, much of which is exclusive with Altec Service. Altec Repair and Replacement Agreement You can budget your maintenance cost for sound and projection equipment at a minimum weekly charge by means of an Altec Service and Parts Agreement. Altec Service maintains warehouses and stock points in all parts of the country, and in each of these stock points a constantly replenished back-log of all parts that are most and frequently needed in the booth of your theatre is maintained. The parts stocked in the 3 6 Altec points are all pretested for optimum performance, and are "life-tested". These important life-tests are made in Altec Service testing laboratories; all parts, chosen impartially from the products of all manufacturers on the basis of efficiency only, are thus constantly being improved by continuous Altec laboratory testing. With the cost of parts constantly rising you can effect a saving by budgeting your costs now. Constant Supervision Insures the Best in Service The headquarters engineering staff of Altec Service receives from each of its inspectors, after every call he makes, a complete, technical report. This insures a constant headquarters supervision of the efficiency of the Altec inspector who visits your theatre. His reports are analyzed by the Research and Development engineers; facts discovered in improving sound in one theatre are immediately applied to all Altec-serviced theatres. All technically useful information is immediately relayed to every Altec inspector. Your theatre benefits by this continuous supervisory process by the Altec research engineers, and a constant check is made to see that the service function of your Altec inspector is always at its best. aumznna 161 Sixth Avenue, New York 13, N.
