9m PAIN IS A GOOD MARKET for motion pictures. At present, there are approximately 4,000 theaters, containing approximately 2,000,000 seats, and a yearly attendance of some 300 million spectators.
The production of moving pictures, however is not as strong as one might expect from this situation. There are about 50 production companies in the country, but, with the exception of four or five which are creditable, produce regularly, and are economically solvent, the rest are of a sporadic nature, without sound credit and appear and disappear from the moving picture scene with extraordinary frequency.
