It is thoroughly made in every particular. The body is of Russia perforated sheet-iron, combining lightness and strength. The condensers are 4 inches in diameter. The projecting tube is of brass, nickel-plated ; achromatic lenses with rack-adjust- ment. The Lamp, which is of great importance in an oil lantern, has 3 wicks, giving the most powerful light which can be obtained from an oil lamp, suitable for lantern use. This lantern is without doubl the most perfect oil lantern made, as on account of the 3-wick lamp it will project a larger and clearer picture than any other lantern of its kind. Accompanying each lantern is a sheet-iron carrying-case, 15£ inches long, 7 inches wide by 14^- inches high, with lock, key, and strap. When packed, the weight of the whole is 12 to 15 lbs. Price of the Lantern, with extra glasses for protecting the con- densers, extra wicks, oil-can, funnel, and carrying-case, $40.00. Owing to the superior brilliancy of the light in the above lantern, it may be used with an arrangement for projecting Photographs, Cabinets, or other opaque objects, such as designs for embroidery, &c. It will project a card photograph to three feet in size, and is a very useful thing for crayon artists, designers, &c. Price of the Opaque Attachment, $3.00.
