Starbuck has denied a report that he had written the Hempstead (L. I.) Development Commission that he would "take care of" any interference problems that might result from the erection of Columbia^ 50, 000— watt transmitter for WABC at Hempstead. He admitted, however, that he had written letters to interested parties concerning the proposed lease of 40 acres of the town lands.
