Screen-Plate Practice 533 used the former method and found that the pictures gradually acquired a rosy tint, due probably to solution of the red dye by the glycerol, which would in time penetrate the varnish film ; further the plates developed patches, that looked like bacillary growths. A. D. Brixey114 patented a projection screen, composed of a translucent light-diffusing screen for receiving the projected rays and a nonreflecting-reducing screen for transmitting the picture to the eyes of the audience. Practically it seems to have been a modification of the Autochrome plate, and the results were said to be shown in colors, although the projected picture seems to have been in black and white only. 1.
