The scene of these productions is laid in the Australian bush, a life analogue to that of our great West. The series have jumped into great popularity and several of the territories have already been disposed of. Travel Pictures for Truart CONTRACTS have just been signed hereby the Truart Film Corporation, of which M. H. Hoffman is vice-president, with offices in the new Loew Building, New York, has acquired an entirely new series of twenty-six " Burlingham Adventures " in one reel each which are to be distributed this fall on the State Right plan. The first pictures to be released will be four separate one-reelers showing the famous wild men of Borneo. These are the result of an expensive expedition into the unexplored jungles of Borneo, 500 miles from the coast, where Frederick Burlingham made his home with the Dayaks. Borneo is the largest island of the Dutch East Indies, 12,000 miles distant, situated midway between Asia and Australia and directly on the equator. It is hot there the year round and clothes are not necessary. In the interior there are still head-hunters and practically all the natives use blow-pipes and poisoned arrows for killing game. These Borneo reels will be put out in the following order : " A Borneo Venice," " Monkey Land up the Barito River," "Jungle Belles of Borneo." " A Wedding Feast Among the Borneo Dayaks." Thi^ expedition already has had considerable publicity, the New York World having published two pages and syndicated the story. Numerous other newspapers have published interviews and the Na Burlingham Adventures to Be Offered to State Righters tional Geographic Society was sufficiently interested to send a special editor to meet Mr. Burlingham in New York and, after a two day conference, decided to publish a full account with maps and photographs in the National Geographic Magazine which has a circulation of 750,000. This story will be published this fall. Millions of readers, consequently, will be interested to see these pictures. In making up these twenty-six new adventure pictures Mr. Burlingham had visited many strange parts of the world which will assure complete variety of subject matter. From Borneo spectators will be taken to the Swiss Alps to see accurately recorded the perilous ascent of the Zinal-Rothorn, one of the most dangerous mountains in the world, which had killed a number of expert alpinists. Before reaching the top Mr. Burlingham's party four times were driven back by foul weather but at last succeeded in filming the summit, a thrilling feat which no other camera man has been able to duplicate. On his return to America Mr. Burlingham was surprised to find that no one ever had photographed the famous scene of the song " Way Down upon the Swanee River." He immediately built a boat carrying an air-drive engine, and descended this strange river 200 miles. This film has beautiful qualities and lends itself to special exploitation specialty, as the whole country is interested in erecting a national memorial to the genius of Stephen Foster who wrote this song which has been sung by millions all over the world. The Travel Magazine is publishing an illustrated account of this adventure in its October number. Among the other pictures to be presented by Truart are scenes in Japan and the Pacific islands, unusual shots in England, France, Switzerland and Italy, here and there an American picture and then among many other pictures the " Lure of the South Seas." Two Halsey Photoplay on Broadway Forrest Halsey, well-known author and scenario writer, will have the distinction of having two successful screenplays on Broadway this month. The first of these " Disraeli," a United Artists production, starring George Arliss who appeared in the original stage production, is having its premiere at the Strand on Sunday of this week and the second "The Wonderful Thing," a First National production, starring Norma Talmadge. will follow " Disraeli."
