Eschmann Heads New Feature
Department Formed by Pathe
Action Necessitated by Taking Over of Associated Product — New Salesmen
Pathe has created a new Feature Sales Department with E. A. Eschmann, widely known as a sales executive, at the head, according to Vice-President and General Manager Elmer Pearson. It is necessitated by the large number of feature productions now to be "s ributcd throtrgh ihe organisation.
Negotiations have been" completed whereby Pathe is taking over the sale and all the physical handling of all the Associated's product. Pathe. itself, has a number of feature series, together with 21 Associated pictures which were acquired on June 16.
It was to handle this large program of feature attractions that the Feature Sales Department was organized with Mr. Eschmann to directly supervise the selling of all Pathe and Associated features. The only exception in feature selling will be that feature versions of serials will be handled by the regular Pathe salesmen.
Under the new arrangement fathe branch managers are lelieved of the responsibilil;,' of feature sales, to be thereby permitted to concentrate their sales efforts on the selling of two-reel comedies, short subjects and serials.
At each branch office a feature sales manager will be appointed who will work directly under Mr. Eschmann and be responsible for the selling of th^' feature product in his respective territory. It is also likely that additional feature salesmen v/ill be taken on to handle the increased business.
