We use Optical Character Recognition (OCR) during our scanning and processing workflow to make the content of each page searchable. You can view the automatically generated text below as well as copy and paste individual pieces of text to quote in your own work.

Text recognition is never 100% accurate. Many parts of the scanned page may not be reflected in the OCR text output, including: images, page layout, certain fonts or handwriting.

HENRIETTA L. GANT is the promising picture player of the future portrayed above. Miss Gant, who is a resident of Shore Road, Douglas Manor, Long Island, New York, was born in Chicago, of English parentage, on June 17, 1889. After being graduated from a convent at Dubuque, Iowa, Miss Gant encouraged her ambition to follow a professional career by studying instrumental and vocal music and dramatic art for ten years. This ambition was never realized, but she feels certain that her opportunity at last arrived when she was chosen a Contest winner.
