Issue the First License on Increased Power Station WTAM Permitted to Use 1,500 Watts WASHINGTON, D. C. — The department of commerce has announced that it had issued the first broadcasting Radio station license since the Third Radio Conference authorizing experimental use of increased power. The first application received requesting permission to use increased power was filed by the "Willard Storage Battery company of Cleveland, Ohio, requesting permission to increase power from 1,000 to 1,500 watts. Acting upon this application, the department authorized the use of 1,500 watts power so long as the department is satisfied that the public interest is served.
