URGES DELAY IN NEELY BILL VOTE
White Suggests Senate Study Committee Reports
W'ashington — Deferring Senate action on the pending Neely antiblock-booking and blind selling measure for two weeks so that all Senators can thoroughly study both the major and minor reports b}' the Senate Interstate Commerce Committee was suggested this week by Senator Wallace H. White, Jr., one of the three to sign the minority report.
Senator White also said that if Secretary of Commerce Hopkins was discussing block-booking and other industry subjects with industry leaders, ''I should almost think Senator Neely would delay bringing up his controversial measure until some official reaction was forthcoming from the Department of Commerce."
Now on the Senate calendar, Neely's measure may be taken up at any time. It was intimated that the Senator might press for action this week while Allied's nation convention is in full swing in Minneapolis. The bill passed the Senate last year while Allied was in session in Pittsburgh. Neely, however, spiked this intimation with an assurance that he would make no effort to bring up his bill on the Senate floor until a week from Tuesday or Wednesday.
