O.). —The circus and warm weather reached town the aame day this week and the boose, wltb the others, suffered. Andrew Msck, the sdver- tlsed hesdliner, did a graceful flop, leaving It to the other and more familiar acts on tbe bill to carry tbe show. Nat M. Wills was there with bia usual supply of laugh-winning "gags," pull- ing down s big share of the honors. Lillian Shaw made a good race out of it with Wills and easily held her own with her character songs. She had the bouae In an uproar with "Sadie Salome." The Duffln-Rcdcay Troupe put over a solid hit with their capital casting fests. Sammy Watson and his farmyard troupe did nicely. Watson secures a great deal of genuine comedy out of this act and has won a top place among stage novelties. James Lncss has his first showing here, being wsrmly received. Tbe appearance of those concerned In the set of the De Hsven Sextet goes s long wsy toward carrying this act through. It Is probably eight years since Jimmy Donovan appeared in tbla city and he has lost none of his popularity or entertaining ability. Highly recommended by tbe Romany snd Zln- gsrl Sisters. none too favorable spot on tlie bill. Ben Beyer and brother gave the show a good start with their comedy bicycle act. UNIQUE (W. D. Hall, mgr.; agent, direct).— A generally pleasing bill this week beaded by the Braniphln Four, which replaced Fcnner an<l Rafferty, who failed to appear. The four are colored and have framed up a musical act which should he In demand for the smaller time. The music Is good, especially on the brasses. There Is a draggy spot where one of the four Indulges in an effort to he funny. Unless something hap- pier can be thnnght out they should stick to the Instruments. One of the three men and a woman have a song In which the others sdd Instrumental parts for the finish, making a good number out of It. The minstrel band finale Is not so mncb. There was plenty of music and singing beside* this act. E. King Cassldy did very nicely in a straight singing number. Then there was George Offermann, who is almost s permanent fixture. He Heems to be a favorite bere and got his share of the rewards. Virginia King la also s singer; that Is, she slnga and might do well enough with Bongs that can be appreciated by those who frequent the picture shows. Tboee need now are misplaced. It might help to cbsnge any- way. It took the usual stage card and a lantern slide to announce Mahelle Helen Welrow, the former not being large enough. Miss Welrow is a nice looking little girl and plays a cornet fairly well. She seemed bashful and amateurish, hut was well liked. Hughes and Cole took down a liberal share of the laugh-winning laurela wltb a travesty art In which Cole's handling of the comedy helped considerably. He dug pretty deep for a song, but it went through wltb tbe aid of a little stepping. The Sisters Parsons ere a pair of harmonizing blondes with harmony ap- parent everywhere In their voices. The girls look \v«ll. however, snd with something better tluin the red Are song for a finish will paas along nicely. The Ben Franklin Trio acored atrongly. They were big favorites nt Dumont's and repeated here. The youngsters are cute. Rensetta and Lyman put over a lively comedy acrobatic act which pleased. One la a lively soubret and Is a strong foil for the comedian. The Kami Klbrl Jsps pleased with some acrobatics, familiar, bat well bandied. The plcturee won their share. LUBIN'S PALACE (George BothweU, mgr.; sgent, William Morris).—This week's bill ranched s good overage, there being a few weak spots in Its make-up. The Gotham Comedy Four was tbe. big name feature and tbelr singing pulled them through in good shape. Tbe comedian overworked the borrowed stuff until be grew tiresome. Even a little would be plenty the way he uses It. Lsngdon and Coggswell hsve a character sketch which amused the Palace patrons. Blanch La Vlgne made her first ap- pearance as s single entertslner. She was for- merly one of the Nonpareil Trio. A poor selec- tion of numbers l essened her chances, but her voice won her some fsvor. Wltb the right mate- rial she will do. Evens snd Evsns are a pair of clever steppers and bave worked out e cap- ital routine of change stuff. These boys hare s fault which seems common In tbe smaller houses, that of making poor exits. It's a had habit and should be checked. Pinard and Man- ning offered a musical act, hurt only by weak comedy. Tbe men play well enougb to forget tbe reet. The Terry Twins finish tbelr act with burlesque boxing which almost aaved them. The opening talk Is poor. Bancroft and Grlffltha, a neat looking team of girls, pleaaed with their dancing. Grace Orma won a liberal share of the henors with e couple of songs snd some talk which *ue put over in good shape. Andy McLeod did nicely with bia familiar turn, unchanged In mttny years, snd James Herbert sang with colored alldee. There were eeveral Interesting pl< tures. PARK (Thos. Dougherty, mgr.: agent. M.
