The Consensus of Quality in Recognized Competition
THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE for reSUltS attained by films which accomplish their intended goals; the statistical facts showing millionfold audiences which saw important sponsored pictures last year give equally important evidence of value received on film investment. But this "consensus" summation of award's honors achieved by 95 films in the past year is worthy of close attention and review.
Such well-recognized competitive events as the American Film Festival. Columbus' "Chris" Awards, the National Visual Presentation selections, the Industry Film Producers' Awards and the National Safety Film Contest represent the best judgment of literally hundreds of the nation's mosl-imeresled, besi-qualijied reviewers of these pictures. Selection of U. S. films for overseas festivals is made by nationwide juries who serve the national Committee on International Non-Theatrical Events (Cine I. films honored abroad lend further credence to the awards they receive here at home.
