Madame Franco, classic dancer, is in the city, returning from South American engagements, to give an exhibition here this month, and its recep- tion will determine whether or not she returns here next season with her company. "The Girl of the Golden West" was added to the repertoire of the Bracale Opera Company at the Nacional, March 4, to the delight of tourists and Cuban society. The most Interesting visitor of the month was Jeff Davis, famous "King of the Hoboes." Inter- ested in Americans stranded beret without work or funds, he "played the part" of one of them by donning old clothes and returning to hobo life here. He was instrumental in getting benefit per- formances at tbe Maxim moving picture theatre on the 5th and 6th to assist him in sending many of these stranded Americans hack to their native land.
