Le grand miroir est placé verticalement sur la base allongée de l'appareil, et on enlève la plaque rotative et la deuxième lentille du condensateur. La plaque porte-objectif est descen- due entre les quatre colonnes jusqu'en bas pour la mise au point. L’objet à projeter est disposé sur une table en métal ; la table est couverte de drap, elle peut être réglée en hau- teur et maintenue en position par une vis à serrage. L'inclinaison du miroir sur la table est réglée à l'aide d’une longue vis.
