The Bi-Unial " Minerva " Lantern No . l190 In order to meet renewed interest in Bi-Unial Lanterns for producing a dissolving effect upon the screen, giving a similar result to that obtained in times past with limelight, we have produced this outfit. As will be seen by the illustration, it is essentially two of our standard model instruments. No. l170, mounted on a single stand. Each Lantern can be tilted separately, so that the picture can be con- veniently elevated, and also both pictures made to coincide accurately on the screen. The Lanterns are fitted with 500-watt Lamps, and the special sliding Resistance produces a perfect dissolving effect, one lamp being dimmed out while the other is brought on.
