This society held a committee meeting in the early part of June at which it was decided to concentrate on effecting good co-operation amongst the production staff. New apparatus has steadily increased under the hands of the technical director, Clarence Knowles, who prefers to make his own whenever possible.
A week-end was spent on a private estate in Hertford making a burlesque film. A report will probably be given in next month’s issue. The secretary of the club wishes to thank all Amateur Cine World readers who have written him asking to join the club, but regrets that it will be impossible to consider any more applications this year.
! ! CAMBRIDGE PHOTOGRAPHIC |! : CLUB CINE GROUP Work has now commenced upon the society’s new production ‘“‘ Orpheus in the Underworld ’’ and judging by the quality of the shots recorded up to the present, the film promises to be of unusual merit.
In addition, a number of short educational films are in course of production and should
e ready for release early next year. Two of these are travel films, while a third deals with a few of the many ingenious devices employed by animals to protect themselves from attacks by foes.
A short reel illustrating some of the aspects of Great Yarmouth includes shots of the destruction of the large cargo boat, whose store of esparto grass caught on fire while the vessel was lying off the town last summer.
The secretary is engaged at present in making arrangements for the winter season and is anxious to secure the loan of a number of amateur films. Clubs and _ individuals who have productions available for hire are requested to communicate with him at 55, Montague Road, Cambridge.

On Saturday, 7th July, this society met at the Regal Cinema, Golders Green, for the presentation of prizes by Lady and Sir Leonard Rogers to the winners of a recent Direction Finding Competition.
After an interval for refreshment in the restaurant a number of amateur films were
projected. The programme consisted of “Pathe Gazette, June, 1934,” ‘“‘ Trees,” “Almost an Accident,” ‘‘ Hendon Aijr
Pageant, 1931’ and ‘‘ All is Not Gold,” the prize-winning film of the Brondesbury Cine Society.
They were unfortunately not able to screen any part of the documentary film on which they are working at present as sufficient material had not been completed in time. Shooting is going forward and another film dealing with the London Docks is contemplated.
The society is still anxious to enrol further members, not necessarily owners of apparatus. Readers interested should write to the secretary: S. I. Shoot, 179, West End Lane, London, N.W.

I SOCIETY I
Although the society has only been formed since the beginning of July, it has already 15 very keen members. They have taken over some old premises and several of the members have carried out extensive alterations to make them into an excellent clubroom and projection theatre.
For the time being the society will confine itself to the making of films that can be shot almost entirely out of doors, but it is later hoped to make the clubroom into a studio as well.
A programme of films was shown on Sunday evening, July 8th, and included one taken by their cameraman, C. R. Brazier, and one taken by a well-known Birmingham amateur cinematographer. There were 40 people present and all expressed their appreciation of a very entertaining evening.
The scenario for the first film, which at present is called ‘‘The Hermit,’ is now practically finished and the production committee will be making arrangements for the first shots to be taken within the next fortnight.
The secretary, W. H. Powell, 11, Kingsley Road, Birmingham 12 will be very pleased to supply full information to anyone interested and also to hear from other societies who have films they would be prepared to lend for presentation at subsequent film shows.
