THE AMATEUR PHOTOGRAPHER ADVERTISEMENTS May 19, 1937 HAVE YOU OBTAINED THE RESULTS YOU EXPECTED? We hope you have, but if, for some reason or another, you are disappointed with your Whitsuntide and Coronation pictures, why not write us and let us know your difficulty ? After all, your trouble may lie in so many unexpected things, and as we have been diagnosing camera faults for years we feel that we are in a position to offer you advice on any miniature camera subject about which you might have doubts yourself. If you do need advice and do not write to us, however, for pity’s sake make sure that the authority from which you obtain your information is a reliable one. An unqualified man may worsen your troubles rather than lighten them, and this applies equally to the developing of your negatives as to the diagnosis of camera faults. For instance, we feel rather like Ripley when we submit the perfectly true statement that, when walking through one of our English counties, which shall be nameless, a week or two ago, we talked for a while with a quite prosperous pharmacist, a man running a sizeable developing and printing business, who calmly told us that we were talking through our proverbial top-hat when we said that it was possible to obtain a finer grain than that obtainable when using meto! hydroquinone, which he used for all his work. For fear of upsetting his mental balance we forbore to mention the range of developers we use in our special service, but the whole incident showed us very plainly how much so many of our English amateurs must be missing. USED APPARATUS We have by far the largest selection of used miniature apparatus of any firm in Great Britain — probably of any firm in the world itself. The purchase of a used article from us is a warranty of its condition. All our second¬ hand cameras are subject before resale to the most exacting tests, and are guaranteed mechanically and optically to be in new condition. LEICAS : Leica III, black, f/2 Summar.
