BROADCAST OVER PRITISH NETWORK Wi British enthusiasm for the Silly Symohonies on the screen has led to their adaptation for radio presentation over a national hookup of the British Broadcasting Corporation system. During the past few with the added help of an orchestra and a chorus, has microphoned from London such Disney successes as "Three Little Pigs, "The Pied Piper" and "Lullaby Land." Although the actual broadcast is only seven or eicht minutes — about the time it takes to show one of the Disney subjects on the screen — it requires weeks of intensive work to adapt, condense and rehearse each program, the cost of which runs into thousands of dollars. Proof of the popularity of this feature on the air is shown by the thousands of letters of commendation received from enthusiastic radio fans. At the same time it was announced that an autographed photograph of Ronald Colman and one of Soretta Young containing a brief biography of the stars in Spanish on the back would be sent to the first 500 listeners writing in for them. This might well be called to the attention of exhibitors in Latin America by our offices in those territories as another example of United Artists enterprise in creating advance interest in our pictures, thus making the exhibitor's job of selling the picture to the public correspondingly easier. Our tieup with WexXAF is a permanent one, and as fast as U.A. pictures are released on Broadway, their merits will be called to the attention of this international audience. The station broadcasts twice a week, Tuesdays and Fridays at 7 P.M. New York time. Make it a point to listen int
