So outstanding in entertainment value and production technique is this initial effort of the recently organized Criterion Films that the New York Times carried a cabled story from its British corresvondent, the gist of which is summed up in the following paragraphs: "Fairbanks, Jr. Wins as Films Producer — Follows Father's Footsteps as a Swashbuckler in 'The Amateur Gentleman.! "Nouglas fairbanks, Jr. revealed himself a true son of his father in a swashbuckling film, 'The Amateur Gentleman,' which had a charity premiere at the London Pavilion. The victure has been adapted by Clemence Dane from the romantic novel of the same name by Jeffery Farnol.
