TWO MORE BRITISH PRODUCERS JOIN U.A.
WILL USE NeW KORDA STUDIOS AT DENHAM
In continuation of United Artists policy of lining up producers of international importance, Murray Silverstone, managing director of our company's activities in England and the Continent, announces the accession of two new British producing units under the releas-— ing banner of U.A.
Contracts have been signed with Max Schach, executive producer of the newly-formed Trafalgar Films, who will make three films a year, and with Arnold Pressburger, head of British Cine-Alliance, for
two productions yearly. By arrangement with Alexander Korda, both these producers will make their pictures at the new London Film Studios at Denham.
Messrs. Schach and Pressburger have been outstanding figures in the film industry on the Continent for many years. The former is an eX—newspaper man who was for twelve years literary and dramatic critic on one of the most important newsvapers in Berlin. In 1920 he joined Ufa first as a writer, later as an independent producer for this company. Eventually, he became the general manager of the powerful Bmelka film concern a job he held until he decided to transfer his activities to England. Pressburger is well known in Vienna, Paris, Rome and Berlin, having sponsored successful pictures in these film centers. He is credited with having discovered such artists and directors as Jan Kiepura, Luise Rainer, Lili Damita, Michael Curtiz and Willie Forst.
