Arthur W. Kelly, vice-president in charge of foreign sales, will leave New York the latter part of July for a visit to the company's offices in Brazil, Argentina and other South American countries.
On April 16, Mr. Kelly returned from a month's tour of the U.A. offices in Central America with the statement that American films are still the preferred screen entertainment in that market, but that good Snanish talkies are attracting a loyal following. Theatre business in those territories is definitely on the upturn, Mr. Kelly said, and he noted that dé luxe houses had recently been bullt in Mexico City and in Guatemala City, which comnare favorably in size and ‘appointments with the first-run theatres on Broadway.

tendered him by Home Office sales executives at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, in annreciation of his work in shouldering as a tenmorary responsibility the duties of domestic sales head in addition to
his official position as foreign sales chief before the annointment
of Georse J. Schaerer as seneral manacer in charge of sales for
the United States and Canada. On behalf of the domestic distribution devartment, Mr. Kelly was presented with a sterling silver tea service,

Home Office executives, district and branch managers in the United States and Canada, and representatives of »roducers who release under the banner of United Artists will attend the comvany's annual sales convention in Hollywood on dune 50, July 1 and 2. It will be vresided over “Sy Georce J. Schaefer, vice-president in charge of sales for
the United States and Canada.
A snecial train leaving New York on June 26 will pick up numerous representatives of United Artists on its way across the country. The varty will arrive in Hollywood on June 29 and will leave the film capital on the day following the close of the convention.
