One day he gets into trouble by trying to kiss a lass over the counter, and when the girl complains to the management. Percy lose? his 3ob, with no money laid by for a rainy day. We see him in his room, preparing a meagre repast of bread and eggs. As be picks up an egg. preparatory to breaking it for the pan, he is much elated upon seeing written on the shell the name and address of one Bessie Kirk. General Delivery. Windsor. 111. Percy forthwith sits down and pens a loving note to his prospective bride, af- ter which he picks np the egg and prepares to cook it. Alas the egg is so fresh (?) that he is compelled to seek fresh air, and in despera- tion ; takes the pan and the egg included and throws it ont of the window. The pan alights upon the liead of a policeman, and after the noise faas sn^ided. he receives a telegram tell- ing him that his spouse is on her way. Greatly astonished at the sudden answer of his future bride. Percy starts to setting things to right, when he is interrupted by the arrival of his ex- pected bride and father. One look at the ap- parition and Percy decides that the bachelor days still hold forth many inducements that are more to his liking, and leaving the astonished father and dear little (?) country lass staring at the closed door, he hurriedly makes his way to more congenial parts. A DAUGHTER OP THE XAVAJOS (Drama; released Jnne 16; length, — feet).—^Wanda, daughter of Chief Thunder Cloud of a tribe of Navajo Indians, is hurt, and Is found by Lieut. Clinton and taken to the post and cared for in the home of Col. West, who is in command of the iH>st. Some time after this Wanda bids her new found friends good-bye, having been cured, but she leaves her heart in the keepinE of Clinton, who does not suspect the state of the girPs feelings, and who is in love with Cora, the daughter of the Colonel. When Wanda again meets Clinton, she lets him know her affection for him* and Clinton, taken by surprise, tells the girl that it can never be. The Indian maid, hurt and Indicant, returns to the Tillage. In the meantime Thunder Clond. mindful of the aid g^ven his daughter, prevents a declaration of war. Returning to his wigwam he meets Wan- da, who tells him of the supposed slight. Wild with rage he returns to the council, where war Is declared, and the Indians start on the war- path. Wanda, realigns that on her account many of her white friends will be killed deter- mines to seek aid for them.. She goes after the troops, who have gone on a scooting expedition, returns with them, and rescues the besieged post. Her father is hrought in a prisoner, and seeing Wanda, spurns her. hut Clinton and Cora take ber to their arms and tell her she has a home with tiiem for the rest of her life. With all hope gone of ever seeing her lover, Ethel sac- rifices herself and marries the old man. The sailor is then seen perishing from hunger and exposure, battling with the huge waves which finally crush the little dingey. Se Is rescued by the life-savers In a launch and revived. As quickly as possible he makes his way to his sweethearts home, and a pathetic scene takes place as Ethel comes in to visit her parents and she realizes that she has shut out forever the great love of her life. AIAj AliONE (Drama: released June 14 length, — feet)—This is an emotional drama depicting the trying sltuaCiou of a young woman torn between two loves—her aged mother and her sweetheart. On his dying bed her father in- duces Helen to swear that she will never for- sake her mother. The trio have lived a recluse life in the midst of the woods, the solitary ex- istence cementing an extraordinary devotion to each other. One day the girl meets a stranger who has lost bts way and is faint from hunger, who tarries with the girl and her mother for a few days. The young couple fall in love, but the old woman angrily drives the man away, and the broken-hearted girl silently acquiesces, in filial devotion. A THOROUGHBRED (Comedy-drama: re- lease Jnne 20: length. 1000 feet).—Parley, a comedian, is the owner of a valnable bor?e, which he plans to enter in a steeplechase. He is in lOTe with a .voung lady, but she considers bis affections of the heart rather a jote. His principal rival in iier affections is the owner of the fastest one of the horses matched against bis. This man offers Parley a pretty - large bet on tbe outcome of the race, and when he finds that the girl has put ber money on bis borse, be is shamed into lAa&lng a wager larger than his means ought to warrant. The rival bribes tlie stable man to *'rlope" Farley's horse, but Parley's joclcey, the only one ^ho can ride bis horse, discovers him in the act, and in the fight which ensnes the joclce.v's arm is broken and Parle.v is left with a horse l»nt no jockey capable of riding him. Realizing that the girl's money Is !n danger, he decides to ride his own borse in the races. He does so. and the race scenes show how bis horse lags liehind as they jump the hurdles one after another until toward the end, when he suddenly comes to the front, takes tbe last hurdle Just ahead of his rivnl's horse, and in the stretch beats him bv half a length. Something in the way Farley has han- dled this matter makes the girl feel that their Is a real man in the comedian, and she Is not backward In letting bim understand that his old suit has assumed another aspect.
