Chtttft Fin Eicfcaige, Cta'cagi, HL merit, while the market and street scenes are ■ | all well photographed and possessing interest. TTOIHY FISHING. Industrial. Length 185 feet. Same reel as In Cambodia. A very interesting film, but almost too abort to be termed an Industrial.. Part of the process of catcblng the fish Is sbown, and that nut Is very Interesting and well' photographed. THE 8FIBIT OF THE GORGE. Edison. Drama. Released August 11. Length 1,000 feet. An Interesting and picturesque Indian story Is what Is enacted here, but one so clouded In plot that it is almost impossible to see tbe con- nection between certain seta of scenes. The story Is a very plausible one, and shows tbe character and customs of the Indian In a natural and correct way. The parta are very well played, and the situations developed far more dramatic than Is the ordinary situation In Indian playa. The photography and scenic effects are splendid and tbe costuming well done. In all, the production la one of tbe best Indian ones on record, the Item of Its clearness being ex- cepted. THE DEATH OF EDWARD m. Vltagmph. Drama. Historical. Beleased August 5. Length 1,000 feet. There la some very splendid acting exhibited In this film on tbe part of tbe actor playing the King's part, and some very good work on the part of the lady be calls big only friend. Tbe production as an entirety, however, is so simple and contains so much of the same thing, being played with one scene only and with tbe King always tbe central figure, that It becomes very tiresome, and when ended leaves one disgusted for having spent the time In viewing so little. The producer of such a film must necessarily be one of some reputation, for ne only gets by with such a production on the strength of past ones. Every attempt bas been made to make the, film a notable one, for the scenery and costuming are well gotten up, and some good people are chosen to play tbe parts. THE TWO GUST MAN, Essanay. Beleased August S. Length 1,000 feet. A terribly long drawn out story, but one kept perfectly clear, is what Is presented In this thrilling Western production. A chain of con- nected events go to make up tbe story, few of them having much weight, but all put together forming an Interesting story. It is a story very characteristic of the West, and looks per- fectly possible of happening. Being well played it becomes interesting, although lacking In any central theme or without any one object being obtained. Tbe scenery Is appropriate, and in all a natural production bas been made. THE PHONEY RING. Sblax. Comedy. Be- leased August 16. Full length. This comedy is full of events which portray human nature very naturally, and for this fact 1p a good show. It is one of that sort of playa which call for an unlimited amount of slang In conversation when presented on the legitimate stage, or. In other words. Is a display of first principles only, which display Is nearly always a humorous one. The director could have put many things into the play which would have been to Its and his credit and which are not put in, and at tbe same time many things occur which are unexpected and pleasing. The comedy Is not the best this company bas produced, but It is creditable and entertaining. Just one or the 200 Stock Slides tbat we manu- facture. 25c win bring this to you, or any of our Slides.
