The two salesmen and she bellboy at tbe botef are Just about' as natural a group as could be found at any real hotel, while the events in the play are those which occur so frequently that no one couid question their ap- propriateness. The people In the ptay appear throughout It as amateurs, while the director seems to have been at his first Job. ' The story here gets its name, from a scene in the play In which a band of Indians, in attack- Ink a party of white people who have taken refuge tan stable or shed, shoot flaming arrows at then- enemies, and set their sued on fire. Much of the film Is consumed in showing long and tedious chase scenes, while the main point of the story, a love affair and its conclusion, is kept very much In the background all through the blay The Indian fight, chase scenes and scenery are all realistic enough, and the production has been well photographed. The storv has been an Inferior one to start with, and It has been pro- duced with either lack of faculties or lack of etUlT The story is thrilling, bot it la not logi- cally put together. UOtTELLT. The tramp artist or rather the artist tramp Is here shown converting various advertisements, which have been placed on billboards. Into comic nosters. His work Is skillful, and If real would {requite amusing. The make-up of the tramps and their foolish actions are sources of much amusement, the splendid photo- graphy giving a clear view of both. THE (REGENERATION OF AN APACHE HID. Sell*. Drama. Released August 15. Length 1 QUO feet. A very Interesting story of the life of an out- east "Is here pictured, along with his- death ip- a very dram/tie way. The story tells of the Kid 8 rescue from a fire, and adoption by Indians, who raise him up to be an outlaw. Later on bis adoption, really by a woman who plans to re- generate him. results In the awakening of bis better nature and his falling in love with his benefactress. The author's manner of disposing of him in order to prevent his marriage to the girl is rather drastic, suicide, but it is In keep- ing with the nature of the Apache, and very likely quite natural. The play shows the deeper emotions of the Westerners, and although battle scenes are Introduced, they are not relied upon to produce the dramatic effect of the -roduction.
