Tom attempts to fool the Major by putting on a [KiUceman's coat and hat, but the Major sees through the disguise, and Tom again makes a get-away. The Major and his gardener mistake the real poUcemta for Tom, and throw him through the window, with the resnit that the Major and the gardener are on their way to Jail, while Betty and Tom were urging Par- son Geodnian to hurry with the marriage cere- mony. When Young Lochlnvar heard the news, he rode alone to the home of Ellen, arriving Just as the wedding was about to be celebrated. The kins- men of the bride were disposed to -be aggressive, but he told them that he had come "to dance but one measure, drink one cup of wine." Dur- ing the dance be tald her his plans, and reach- ing the door, they leaped on hia horse and were off before the Metherby elan had realized what bad happened. And they never saw the "fair Ellen" again, tor she. became the happy bride of Lochlnvar. LOVB'S SACRIFICE (Drama: released Sept. 29; length feet).—^A middle-aged scientist marries a young girl. The girl is happy in her new home, but lonely. Her husband loves her. but Is wrapped op In his profession, and abe feels tbat sbe Is neglected, A yoons man, tbe son of an old friend of uer husband, falls in love with her. Her husband, looking out of the window, sees the young man ombrace his wife, and turned from the window with a groan. Bad ne waited he would hav,> seen the young woman repulse the man, and order him from the place. The husband considers what to do. and holding his wife's bauplness above all else, decides to eliminate himself In - a manner tbat would seem that he died a natural death. He tells his wife that he Is golnr abroad on busi- ness and goes to a part ot the tropics tbat Is .practically death to a white man. The young wife later learna the destination of her husband, end posting after him, finds him sick and ap- parently dying, bnt she convinces htm that he Is the only man she erer loved, and nnraea him back to health.
