" EARLY LIFE Wynne Gibson comes of old American stock, a de scendant of the Ccffin family of Nantucket, The family's ancestral home is still a landmark of the island. Wynne was educated at the Wadley School for Girls in New York, where she was not only the champion reciter, but was an ace basketball player. Her only stage appearance, as a young girl, was at an "amateur night" when she went on a dare. STAGE CAREER All Miss Gibson's stage life was spent in musi cal comedy. She played leading roles in two Lew Fields productions; "Castles in the Air," "Tangerine," "The Gingham Girl," "Little Jesse James," "City Girl" and "The Dutch Chap.
