Noel has joined the Gr.C lA. °° forces,” and ina short chat with him we learned that the firm 1s shortly releasing another great feature, ‘* Betrothed.” * Parsifal,” of course, is going exceptionally well. We had the pleasure last week of a visit from Senor Jose Sola Guardiola, director of that interestiny and widely read journal, El Mundo Cinematografico, of Barcelona. Senor Gsuardiola, who is making a short stay in this country, has been favourably impressed by the state of the industry in Britain, and has been particularly struck by the maynificence of our picture theatres. An unusual situation is said to have arisen with reg yard to the forthcoming IHlepworth release, “* The Broken Qath.” It was, at first, rienled that the film, a two-reel subject, should be made an exclusive, and arranvements had actually been made for a leading firm to take the release under exclusive rights. When, however, the picture was shown at private views in the provinces, its enthusiastic reception called for somewhat different methods, and so numerous were the requests to have ‘‘an open market,’’ that Messrs. Llepworth have been compelled to ask the firm mentioned to release them from the avreement. ‘This has generously been effected, all restrictions have been removed, and the film can now be secured in the ordinary wavy. = The Ideal Film Renting C ompany,. iL inuted, are giving a private exhibition of ° ‘Joan of Are.” for which they hold exclusive rights, at Kelair Hlouse. Walturdaw have purchased the exclusive rights for the Kingdom of the first two of the ‘“ Players’’ detective stories, entitled ‘‘ Chelsea 7750,” and ‘ An Hour before Dawn.” The third of the series, expected from America shortly, will be a thrilling drama aboard ship.
