Wedding Gift from the Trade.
A convincing testimony to the camaraderie obtaining throughout the Trade was furnished by the very interesting presentation which was ‘made to Mr. H. Cluett Lock, by the film renters and publishers, on the occasion of his marriage to Miss Queenis Ward. The combined gift made to the popular secretary of the Fiim Renters’ Association took the form of an oak dining-room suite, comprising sideboard, dining table and chairs, mirror, clock, hearth suite and carpet, these being supplied by Messrs. ‘Waring and Gillow, Limited.

The almost unanimous response on the part of the members of the Manufacturers’ Association, as well as the Renters’ Association, may be regarded by the recipient as a high testimonial to the satisfaction he has given in the office which he has held for the past three years. The subscription was limited to half a guinea, and a sum of £46 was collected.
We extend our congratulations and hearty good wishes to Mr. and Mrs. Lock, and have much pleasure in publishing the
accompanying letter of thanks and appreciation :—
To the Editor of THE BIOSCOPE.
Srr,—I should like, if you will allow me through the columns of your esteemed journal, to express the very keen avpreciation I feel at the handsome presentation made to me by the film renters and publishers on the occasion of my marriage. The gift 1s one that will always remind me of the kindly and hearty co-operation and assistance I have received at all times from every member of the Trade.
Thanking you in anticipation for your kindness.— Yours faithfully,
H. CLuettT LOcK.
RECORD RUN RESULTING.
Messrs. Moss Empires (bioscope department) have evidently got a good thing in the film of Walter Howard’s play, “The Midnight Wedding.” Their astute manager, Mr. A. J. Tetlow, informs us that the film has already been booked for over 400 theatres and is, in a number of cases, being re. booked on account of its initial success. Exhibitors would do well to look in at the Charing Cross Road establishment in order to obtain narticulars of other “notables” which are promised by this enterprising syndicate. ,
