In other words, the width of the master blade depends to some extent upon the speed of the intermittent movement. Apparently the speed at which the edges of the master blade move decides, in a measure, the width of the master blade and the other blades. (77) The variation is small, but since the shutter goes into action 96 times each second (two blades, each with two edges), it is an item of importance.
