We use Optical Character Recognition (OCR) during our scanning and processing workflow to make the content of each page searchable. You can view the automatically generated text below as well as copy and paste individual pieces of text to quote in your own work.

Text recognition is never 100% accurate. Many parts of the scanned page may not be reflected in the OCR text output, including: images, page layout, certain fonts or handwriting.

MAINTENANCE OF SOUND EQUIPMENT 663 months of use. Gummed labels or china-marking crayon are used for this. In parts that generate or are subjected to intense heat such markings are not permanent, and should be renewed when necessary in the course of the weekly inspection. (38) Experience with such records will be an invaluable guide to the projectionist when he is asked to advise on the selection of a new sound system, since the cost and trouble of maintenance is as important in that selection as quality of results or initial purchase price. Some maintenance factors, for example, the rapidity with which certain parts will wear out, can only be guessed at, and guarantees should be asked to cover such points. Other maintenance factors are, however, subject to personal inspection of the equipment. The most important, perhaps, are simplicity of design and ease of accessibility, both being virtues that prevent unnecessary troubles and make those that are unavoidable easier to find.
