The report of Exam¬ iner Pratt (No. 198) was sustained. /ALITETJPS LOS^ LICENSES The licenses of two am'^teur operators were revoked this week by the Commission since investigation indicated that the licensees h^.d knowingly and wilfully operated their stations in the broadcasting band. Station ’''9AJD, owned and operated by Joy P. Miller, Ashland, Nebraska, and Station ’'^4AJ, operated by Marshall Castleberry, Adel, Ga. were involved. Both wore broadcasting music. The call letters of the Nebraska station were announced -s ”KMRS.” BOOSTER CA,SE FOR HEiiRING The Commission this week ordered set for hearing the application of the Colum¬ bia Broadcasting System for the erection of a 250-w'att booster station in ’'Washing¬ ton to operate on "ABC’s frequency of 860 kc . The application called for author¬ ity to conduct experim.ents to ascertain the feasibility of oper^^.ting booster sta¬ tions in synchronism with the main stations; the hearing will be held on October 19, UNIFORM COST .ACCOUNTING An outline for a uniform system of cost accounting for broadc''sting stations h.^s been prepared and will be shortly sent to members of the National Association of Broadcasters for comment and criticism. The outline, along with a detailed as well as a simplified chart of accounts, is being recommended as a basis upon which a final system can be adopted. Much of the preliminary work has been performed by President Daram. and it is hoped th^t approval vmll be secured at the Annual Meot^ ing. CORRECT FOREIGN STATION LIST The Electrical Equipment Division of the Department of Comimerce has just issued corrections to the list of foreign radio broadcasting stations as of September 1, 1931. Copies of the correct! )n list may be obtained by writing Lawrence D. Batson, Electrical Equipment Division, Department of Commerce, 'Washington, D. 0. COWISSION RECONSIDERS RENE'AJLS After declaring the renewal of license applications of stations ItTAQ, Eau Claire ’’Use, and KSCJ, Sioux City, Iowa, in default on September 11, the Commission this week reconsidered its previous raction and ordered that these applications be re¬ placed on the hearing calendar to be heard at a future date.
