A look toward the future of electronic journalism and a close-up acquaintance with all facets of radio and tv news broadcasting. Those were the rewards of an eager group of teenage school paper editors and faculty advisors who attended the'First Annual WSB Radio-TV News Broadcasting Conference in November. Offering a creative contest with a year's college tuition scholarship as first prize, the conference was sponsored by the stations in association with the University of Georgia School of Journalism. It was the first ever held by an individual broadcaster in conjunction with a major university. Participants observed and discussed broadcast news techniques, heard personal messages from NBC Radio newsmen from all points of the globe. They viewed a specially-prepared closed-circuit television report by David Brinkley, who held a stimulating question-answer period. As an annual event the High School Conference will rank high among WSB's many other endeavors in the public interest. ATLANTA'S WSB RADIO WSB-TV with The Atlanta Journal and Constitution.
