Cook, formerly with wbkb (tv) Chicago, joins wbbm-tv there as on-the-air promotion writer. DEATHS Adolph J. Schneider, 53. VP in charge of production at Magna Film Productions, Boston, died Dec. 3 in that city. Mr. Schneider formerly served for 15 years as news and special events director for NBC. Luther P. Weaver, 78, board chairman of Weaver-Gardner Inc.. St. Paul. Minn., advertising agency, died Nov. 27 at St. John's Hospital there. George Ehret Burghard, 68, retired electronic products distributor, amateur radio operator and philatelist, died Dec. 8 at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, six days after suffering heart attack. Mr. Burghard organized and was president from 1920 to 1934 of Continental Radio Corp., New York, a distributor of RCA products, and later served as president of Continental Sales Corp.. Newark. N. J., radio equipment suppliers, until he dissolved that concern. He was president of Radio Club of America from 1921 to 1925.
