Categories: Motion pictures, theatrical and non-theatrical (16mm) in each of four fields: 1. Occupational. 2. Home. 3. Traffic and transportation. 4. General. Sound slidefilms are judged separately, as are television short subjects and TV spots. Awards: Bronze Plaques will be awarded to lop winners in each of the four fields and to top sound slidefilms. Award of Merit Certificates will be given to other films for special reasons of subject treatment, production excellence and/or unusual contribution to safety. ,\t the discretion of the judges, awards may be given separately for "instruction-teaching"' and for ""inspirational" purpose films. Entries close April 29, 1963 The National Visual Presentation Association annually sponsors a National Visual Presentation Awards Competition, presenting awards to audio and visual presentations contending for its ""Best Visuals" citations in various categories noted. All entries and blanks must reach the committee no later than Monday. April 29th, 1963. The National Visual Presentation Awards Competition is a major feature of the 1 1th Day of Visuals, to be held June 4th. ."ith and 6th, at the Hotel Commodore in New York. Also featured will be 3 days of seminars on visual presentation subjects and an audio-visual trade show. Winners of the National Awards Competition will receive their awards at NVPA's Day of Visuals banquet on June 5th. Types of Visuals Eligible: For the purpose of this competition, visuals are defined as: NAT! VISUAL PRESENTATION AWARDS; (1) motion pictures. (2) filmstrips and slide programs with recorded sound. (3) slides and overhead projector transparency programs, and (4) flannel board, flip chart and other nonprojected visual presentations. Industrial, Government and Institutional Films for Internal Use; 111. Government Films for General Information to the Public; IV. Films Sponsoied by Industry. Companies or Other Commercial Institutions for the General Public; V. Films Sponsored by Civic and Community Organizations or Other Nonprofit Institutions for Public Use; Vi. Classroom Films (primary and elementary schools); VII. Classroom Films (secondary schools and colleges); VIII. Continuing Education (graduate, technical, training and other instructional). Entry Information: Application blanks to be sent in April; receipt of forms deadline is .August 1, 1963. Only 16mm release prints will be accepted but original gauge may be another.
