Though the SMPTE Univci Leader includes many new i, tures, the major aspects of the ol leaders were retained to perm established film laboratory ai theatre practices to be followi while meeting the new requir ments of television transmission
Changes incorporated into Universal Leader include:
( 1 ) Timing or count-down seconds at 24-frame/seconds rui ning itistead of the present l| frame "footage" count down; (^1 A continuously moving clock-ty|' wedge to denote passage of titii| (3) RcdLictit)n of flashing to pr| vent instability in automatic tcl cine projection; (4) Use of sligh ly redesigned 35mm and I6ni' sound cues in the anticipation international acceptance:
