CAMERA!
The Digest of the Motion Piclure industry"
Page Fifteen
"Gags"' and rapid, funny action are the chief ingredients of slapstick comedy. Funny titles also play a very important part in comedies. I received a letter a short time ago fi'om a producer, in which he told me that I had increased the value of his first production a hundred per cent by A\ riting a new set of sub-titles for him. It enabled him to get a release, or sales contract, for his entire series.
In the next issue of Camera ! we Avill have the synopsis of a two-reel comedy which will be followed by the continuit.y and full develoi^ment. As ))(>fore stated, it will l)e a combination of straight comedy, "hokum," and a touch of slapstick. Each kiiul will l)e pointed out for my readei' as we go along.
