"Something More," were given screen tests at the Hci iuann studios on Wilshire boulevard this week. After the tests were taken, Mr. Hermann said it would be necessary to conduct other tests before it will be possible to make final selection of those who arc to be given parts in his next picture. Violet Lewis and Hazel Jamieson. "Beauty alone will not win before the camera." said Mr. Hermann, after the iests had been made. "I am in need of special types, and personality must enter into the final selection. A woman endowed with good looks plus wholesome and winning personality, will be given preference over those who may be beautiful but who are unable to register personality on the screen. "For that reason it will be necessary for me to see each contestant on the screen and then compare notes on personality, beauty •.nd general screen values. Sometimes a girl may be exceedingly beautiful, but she does not walk gracefully. Or she may be vivacious and very wonderful off the screen, but this trait may not register with the camera. However, I expect within a short time to announce the final winners in the contest."
