Coming to the Pacific Coast in 1914 he joined the Pacific Athletic Club as press agent, and secretary to T. J. McCarey, with whom he was associated for three years. When twenty round boxing contests were voted out of this state. Burns turned his attention to the motion picture industry. As a starter he took to acting and finally became an assistant director. He worked alongside of some of our leading directors, who produced anything from one reel dramas to serials. Now Harry Burns is directing Chester Comedies under the supervision of W. S. Campbell, with whom he has-been producing two reel animal comedies for the past twenty-four months. Director General W. S. "Campbell has advanced Harry Burns to a directorship, because Harry has served his apprenticeship as assistant, and the first picture that Director Bums produced under the eagle eye of his boss has been voted as one of the best turned out at the Lincoln Park studio since its inception. Director Burns is a member of the Assistant Directors Association. It is remarkable to notice the number of A. D. A. boys who have progressed as Mr. Burns has within the last year. Kathleen Kirkham is finishing the organization of her own company. Grace Pike has been engaged by Metro to enact a part in "Are Wives "'or,ip?" Wesley Ruggles will direct Alice Lake in her new Metro starring picture, "Mother Love." i^MiiiiMMiiniittiMMiMiiiinininiiHMMiniiitiiitiMtiiiiiiiiiniiMiiiMiiiiiiiinniiiiuiiniiirtiiiiMi:: I MARK FENTON I I CHARACTERS | I 577177 1 i At Present in "Four Horsemen of the = = Apocalypse" | 7llllllirillllllMli:i!llllllllllllllltlllllMII{IIM.IIIII llllllllllllllllllirMIIIIMIIIMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIli; mMinMiiiiiiiniuiiiimiiiiiiiiMiiiiiMiiiiiiiuiiMiiiiMiiiiiiitiiiiiiiiNiji iiiitiiiiiiniiiiiiiiiiiMi; WILBUR HIGBY Character Actor Engaged "Queen of Sheba" MARION MACKAY Society, Character, Refined Comedy Parts Hotel Cordova Bdwy. 506 ^uiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiriiiiiiiiiiriiiimiiiiiiiiiiiiii:'ii.ii iNiiiiiiiMiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii'i'Miiiiiiimiin^ I CAMERAMAN | At Liberty | I GOOD REFERENCES 1 I 597750 I TillllllllllllHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIilllllMIIIIIIIIIMIIIIIIMIir BURTON HALBERT Second Week with Will Rogers as •FARMER BELL" The Pit CLASSIFIED WANT ADDS Your advertisement will be run in tkia column >t the rate of 15c per lin«.
