SHERRILL CORWIN
ON WORLD TOUR
Word has just been received that Sherrill C. Corwin, International Chief Barker of Variety International plans to visit London, the Channel Islands, Ireland and Israel in late August.
Mr. Corwin will attend a meeting of the Executive Board of the London Tent and the following day will be hosted at a dinner tendered by the Executive Board and Crew of the Variety Club of Great Britain.
On August 26th he will visit Ireland, and the following day the Channel Islands. On September 2nd he flies to Athens to present a Variety-sponsored Sunshine Coach to the Hellenic Society for Disabled Children, and the following day on to Tel Aviv for a meeting with members of the Variety Tent of Israel}.

A distinguished member of the American Motion Picture Industry, Mr. Corwin was elected International Chief Barker of Variety at the annual convention in Las Vegas last April.
S.M.P.T.E. PLANS MONTREAL TRADE SHOW
The Society of Motion Picture Theatre Engineers has announced its plans for

an Equipment and Trade Show to be held in conjunction with the Association’s 110th semi-annual technical conference at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Montreal from October 3rd to 8th. This is the first time that the S.M.P.T.E. has held a conference outside the United States since 1965.
89 booths will be available for exhibitors, varying in price according to size of space required. Exhibit chairman is Mr. J.L. Vandette of the CBC in Montreal.

YABLANS AND ROSS TO HEAD V.C. CONVENTION IN NEW YORK
Mr. Sherrill C. Corwin, International Chief Barker of Variety International, and Mr. Salah M. Hassanein, Chief Barker of Tent No. 35 in New York have issued a joint statement confirming that Mr. Frank Yablans, President of Paramount Pictures and Steve Ross, President of Kinney International have accepted joint chairmanship of the 1972 International Variety convention to be held at the Hotel Americana in New York from April 23rd to April 28th, 1972.
Key committees will be named shortly, with plans for making the Participation of every registrant a memorable and joyful experience.
This convention is expected to attract an attendance in excess of 1200 Variety members from all parts of the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Ireland, Mexico, Israel and other foreign countries. Last year Variety Clubs throughout the world raised more than $10,000,000.00 in behalf of children’s charities the world over.
