Harvey Sherman at Ashling MultiMedia (which backed a good chunk of EQUUS this year) is talking about three big-budget features next year, two of them westerns, and all three for /FD distribution in Canada. THE DOGS OF WAR, scripted by Abby Mann from Frederick Forsyth’s novel will be a co-production with the U.K., and will be distributed in the rest of the world by United Artists. Elliott Kastner and James Kennedy will be executive producers on BOUNTY, a western scripted by William Goldman which will star Burt Lancaster. Locations are in Calgary and vicinity. GRINGO LEGIONS, also a western, is scripted by John Champion and Rudy Petersdorf. Latter will be executive producer. Universa/ will release worldwide, except Canada.
